Background

Biography

My work lies at the intersection of artistic creation, technical precision and the study of the image as language, document and object of knowledge. I work in three mutually enriching fields: fine art photography, photography applied to visual communication, and teaching and research in scientific and forensic imaging. This combination has defined my career from the outset and shaped an understanding of photography in which aesthetic sensitivity, technical rigor and critical reflection coexist naturally. My education began at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, at the Centre de la Imatge i la Tecnologia Multimèdia, where I studied for a degree in Photography and Digital Creation, one of the first university programs in this discipline in Spain. During those years, I explored both the scientific and technical dimensions of photography and its humanistic and expressive aspects in depth. That dual foundation—technique and vision—remains one of the fundamental pillars of my work. My studies included optics, mathematics, chemistry, computing, sensitometry, colorimetry, photographic laboratory techniques, the history and aesthetics of the image, as well as lighting, composition, film, 3D computer graphics and the practical application of photography in fields such as advertising, artistic creation and scientific imaging. Early on, I specialized in creative and advertising photography, digital post-production, image quality and color management. This focus enabled me to work professionally as a photographer and retoucher in advertising and fashion photography, always seeking innovative technical solutions in the service of visually compelling, precise and effective images. At the same time, this specialization also led me to teaching. I have taught at some of the leading photography schools in Spain, and I would particularly highlight my time at GrisArt, where I headed the digital department and served on the academic board. There I designed and developed a three-year curriculum focused on digital post-production, image quality and color management, allowing me to explore these fields systematically and pass that knowledge on to new generations of photographers. In 2014, I received a scholarship to pursue a Master's in Scientific Imaging at the Universidad de Alcalá. This program enabled me to expand my experience into highly specialized areas, including scientific and forensic photography and advanced image analysis. In 2017, I co-founded the Asociación Española de Imagen Científica y Forense alongside university professors, scientific imaging specialists, forensic police officers and highly qualified experts, with the aim of promoting the study, research and rigorous application of imaging in scientific and forensic contexts, as well as contributing to the authentication and analysis of conventional and digital images. I currently work as Director of Innovation at PROBATIA ( https://probatia.es), helping to develop and innovate tools for managing and analyzing digital and multimedia evidence with chain of custody for lawyers, experts, investigators and forensic analysts.
